For the record, the well documented lack of torque between 2500 - 3500 rpm seems to improve with the miles. After 1400 miles around France a few weeks ago, and just under 6000 on the clock now, mine does seem to be pulling better, though the real power is still over 4000.
My handbrake has improved a little too, since a I removed a rivnut which was directly in line with the cable, such that the cable was actually rubbing it when taught. Thanks to Stefan for the heads up on that.
