The one piece rubber filler hose was still fitted in 2005. I've made a drawing and am working on a multi piece replacement, but the problem is the massive reduction in diameter from about 52mm to 32mm in a very short length. At some stage I might see if Simon can produce a bespoke short aluminium reducer.
The current cars have an aluminium reducer with integral T piece for the breather, and two simple straight flexible hoses. Much improved.
This is my original kinked hose. Note the aluminium reducer at the top.
This is after I loosened the bottom hose clip and just eased the pipe further down onto the tank pipe. Very subtle straightening but this made a big difference to fill speed.
