The original manufacturer was BTR in Australia and then production moved to Malaysia with another company name which presently escapes me...........
It's on a label on the rear axle of the current trads.
Adoption of the BTR axle dictated the rear axle width, which widened by an inch or two at the change point.
Interesting - that must explain why the rear mudguards of my 2015 4/4 are significantly wider (and I think better-looking) than those of a friend's 4/4, which dates from around 2003.
