Good to hear about the steering feel not being reduced, I have to ask though, is it not possible to keep the system hydraulic?
My first guess would have been to refurbish the pumps, but I know this isn't possible for whatever reason - curious as to the reason why though.
The system is still hydraulic. It just uses an electro-hydraulic pump as opposed to an engine driven pump
Part of the problem with the original Honda/Rover crankshaft driven pumps is not the pump itself failing, but rather the Morgan specific "cush drive" failing. These parts are no longer available by any means short of remanufacture, as Morgan no longer have stocks

this discussion has been about the S1 Aeros, I'd be interested to know how the power steering has "evolved" over the years.
So in my case with the S4 based Plus 8, is the power steering pump 100% BMW, or something developed by MMC?
Is the rack as it was on the S1, or something more readily available?
Just curious. I intend to keep this car for a long, long time....
