Thank you for that advice, when I read it I was convinced that you had not read my original post or that you simply did not understand it.
I stated that I had connected a very large battery to the car and it still would not start, as the same jump leads have started numerous cars over many years I did not suspect that they would be too small in this case.
Spanners hold no fears for me but did I really sound as though I was keen to get them out ?.
