My first pair of Avons lasted about 3,000 miles. I then learned to up the pressure from the recommended 22lbs to 27. It helped but not by much.
For any interested in keeping Avons in the future please remember that this particular tire is for the rear/side car of a motorcycle. It was not designed for the stresses encountered by a steering wheel holding up so much weight!
Its bias rating resembles that of a soft noodle...
