Cole, welcome and congrats on the new car. GLLHG's answer is very thorough and my addition would be that calling the car "K-tec'd" was the previous owners way of saying it had been fettled. This could amount to a remap and engine management chip or simply the parts you already mention [induction, etc]

I agree- that would seem to be the way to 'read it'
If the car is still running with the orignal throttlebody set up and has not been converted to direct entry, then I'd be surprised if there has been a remap or a rechip.
If the mods have been limited to the K &N, then the important thing is to check that it( the K &N) is positioned so that the air it is taking in is cool and dense.
