Post Photobucket reboot from November 2009...............Someone has recently had their throttle stick wide open -
I thought I'd read it on here, but it may have been Mogtalk. The organ pedal had stuck down. Luckily no damage was done as the driver was able to switch the ignition off. There was also a reference to the cable on another Mog showing a broken strand.
This is the arrangement on the Series 1: There are several pivots, and two main "throttles" protected by coiled 'hairsprings' - just visible here. So plenty to oil. At the bottom edge of this photo you can see an unused ball attachment where a return spring could be located.
I'm giving this some thought, as I don't want to make the throttle heavy, but have a couple of return springs in stock.............

And this is full throttle........

Not obvious on the photos, but the cable moves upwards at full throttle relative to the outer cable, so the cable abrades on the top edge of the outer. So put some light grease here
To get oil down the cable, make up a small funnel from foil. In this case it's from a posh wine bottle.......
Hold the cable down where it passes the engine - so that the oil can flow down - the gradient is the wrong way here!

And finally you may recall that I added a 'P' clip because my throttle cable was rubbing on the steering column. Here's a reminder..........

Just below that UJ under the wing is a metal box. I'd already grommeted the shaft on the front edge, but I'm now trying a neoprene lid, because it's open topped. This is two ply to get the right thickness, and is a push fit.

That's all for now.......
