Hello all. I got my Morgan (2015 Plus 4) late last year and joined this excellent site to share and learn - more learn actually.
Well I'm a tinkerer and one thing I noticed on warm days when moving along air out of the heater was cold (when set cold) but in stationary traffic it started blowing warm and then cold when moving again. I assumed heat soak from the engine bay.
But on my car the top of the heater box (intake) has seals MOST of the way round to seal the intake from the engine bay. At the front there is a gap in the sealing foam on each side of the bonnet centre rod. so there's a gap of about 5 inch by 1 1/4 inch. It seems that when stationary and the engine bay is not being "flushed" the hot air could get into the heater intake - hence warm air.
Questions is this a standard "feature" and has anybody noticed it apart from me (being a detailed person), and, I plan to close the gap with soft foam to improve the seal between engine bay and heater intake.
Any comments appreciated and be gentle with me I'm new to all this (hope Ive posted in the right place as well).
