There are some simple applications that re-arrange the screen on Android and iOS smartphones to make them work like HUD. You need to lay them flat and secure on top of the dash so that puts a morgan out!
If you look in the appstore and search for Heads up display you should find them. A few friends use them but I found it annoying.
