My 2015 M3W is one month out of warranty & has 3208km on the speedo.
Recently I experienced the clutch pedal gradually moving out of adjustment until finally it reached the floor & it was impossible to engage gear. At the same time the engine assembly showed extreme vibration particularly at 1800RPM with the car in neutral & stationary.
I am careful when driving to always keep the motor above 2600-2800RPM to avoid lugging & torque shock.
The car was towed to the Sydney Morgan Service Agent & the motor, Centa coupling & clutch assembly removed for inspection.
The elastomeric rubber doughnuts in the Centaflex RS flexible coupling are worn & fretting, allowing movement in the coupling & vibration of the whole assembly. The clutch plate shows uneven wear as does the fly wheel. the slave clutch cylinder is leaking, probably also caused by the vibration, explaining the inoperative clutch.
A new set of Centa rubbers, flywheel, Clutch plate & a slave clutch assembly has been ordered from Morgan.
Has anyone experienced a similar failure?
I just hope the replacement rubbers solve the problem.
