I agree it is not the best experience. That is why I limit the use of it.
The Plus 8 screen fits the scuttle and hood up it keeps water out as long as I keep rubber lubricant on the seal inside the header rail. It does leak through the drivers door somewhere, water collects in a small puddle on the box section by my the seat. An old hand towel is essential.
With the hood up it is a bit claustrophobic and noisy and the screen mists up, despite the screen heater. The heater helps, but isn't the answer. Fortunately Tarka has A/C and whilst useless as A/C it works really well as a dehumidifier/de-mister. The screen and side screens stay clear. The rear screen is not, but as the outside is covered with road muck it is of little consequence.
Topless is best... (oh, err, Misses...)
