To follow on from above posts here's some pics of the regulator/rectifiers that could be fitted;

If it looks like this;

Then it's the original Morgan unit, is very expensive and will fail, possibly cooking the battery as it goes. It may be fitted this way;

Which is the original mounting or may be direct to the chassis which is the later and arguably better way;


If it looks more like this;

Then it is a cheap and nasty Harley Davidson clone from China via eBay and may well last forever. The real Harley ones are much more expensive and suspiciously similar

Telling if you have a Centa coupling or the earlier compensator is a bit more difficult. If there is no 2" inspection hole in the underside of the intermediate bell housing between the engine and the gearbox bell housing then you probably have the original compensator without the grease nipple and failure may be imminent!. If you have one 2" hole in the bell housing then you could have either the grease nippled original compensator or the Centa coupling; they had these holes drilled in slightly different locations depending on the type fitted. If there are two holes then it's a good chance that you have the Centa or the mechanic drilled one hole in the wrong place.
If what you see through the hole resembles this;

then not only do you have a Centa coupling but one of the four rubber rollers has broken up and is making a bid for freedom through the vent hole. Sorry I don't have a photo showing what it looks like without the bit of rubber sticking out but hopefully you will get some idea of what you would be looking at.
I'll echo those who say that the NVH kit for the bevel box achieves nothing and is probably not as good as not having it.
A decent battery does help but starting technique from cold and particularly after it has been sitting unused for a while is to turn on the ignition key, wait for the whirring of the fuel pump to stop, turn off the ignition, then repeat at least once, preferably twice then actually start the engine. Otherwise you can end up churning the engine over for a long time waiting for anything to happen. This has flattened quite a few batteries.
The cooling kit does away with a fair bit of misery for those unfortunate enough to live in a warm climate and suffer from heavy traffic. It does also apparently do a very good job of ducting cooling air around the engine when moving at speed so giving more even cooling. I don't have it on mine and have never had the dreaded "skip fire" mode wwhich some have found alarming.
I've got duct tape around the gaps behind the seats to reduce the impressive amount of dust that gets in from the back of the car. I also have some tape over the gaps at the front of the footwells, hidden behind the bottom chassis tubes; this was surprisingly awkward to do neatly and as far as I can tell has had no effect whatsoever on the crud that gets in down the footwells.
