This what most of the people do.
I had the same idea but I'm not sure I'll remove it, the fact is that a MOG is very low so I believe that the "Cobra" is not a luxury, especially in bad weather. I made 700 kms with hard rain and I think it's a nice thing to have the HLBL ...
BUT it's so damn horrible that it kills the back of the MOG swear mad2
I am still between both positions: keep it or leave it. doh

BTW I dunno how it works elsewhere but in France if the car has been sold with it you can't remove it, if the policemen stops you you have a tax to pay. swear

You are right, as soon as the car have been certified, you cannot change anything. You can get a fine if you change something. Remember in France, the third stop light has to be set at least at 90cm high. The only problem is when you have a luggage on the rack you can experience some trouble with the police because the third stop is hidden.
A lot of people don’t like the cobra, but I don’t hate it. I find it rather … round and it goes well enough with the car. Of course if I could choose I would prefer without, but it is a detail.
