As a resident of Canada, there was really no other choice than a Tilley. Classic cream-coloured T3 for me with the dark green under-brim lining; mine is getting on a bit, fraying round the edges and just beginning to show signs of rotting out where the crown joins the brim, but it's suffered all sorts of indignities over the years, including dunkings in many lakes, Great and smaller...
It's great for Morganing, keeping the sun out of the eyes and away from the ears, as well as off the shiny bits on top.
