I have been choosing from a range of hats recently - all conveniently stacked on the passenger seat. Constantly changing hats as each one is needed for different conditions encountered on my regular journey from Oxford to West Sussex. A red baseball cap with elastic for high speed (M-40), tethered with a sailor’s clip-on; a light straw panama type hat for traffic jams (M-25) and a viet-cong jungle hat with chin strap for dual carriageway (A-3) also keeps sun off ears; back to the panama for country roads. Just lost a Panama hat changing lanes on the M25 and accelerating too fast to fill a gap. Discovering that hats can be expensive.

Neither Bob, Mr Benn was a program my youngsters use to watch and he would go into a room with a Bowler on and try another hat on and begin a new adventure, sorry it was a bit obscure.
