I can only remember two great cars from my council estate days in the sixties/seventies. A Jensen Interceptor used to come to the chip shop across the road from where I lived. The local 'Inventor' did well, and had a Ferrari Daytona as his daily driver. Otherwise I can only remember being impressed by the newsagent who bought a brand new Capri 1600, probably in '68. The neighbours had an Isetta, a Messerschmitt, a Wartburg Knight, etc etc. The local TV shop owner had a Gilbern Invader Estate in the early seventies, which corrupted my mind as I had to have one. I did that in 1990, and got it out of my system. He then traded it for an early XJ6 in salmon pink, and also bought a toupe. (NOT coupe)
