I can lock the fronts on my 4/4 quite easily if I try with the standard Lockhead 4 pot calipers and discs especially now I've fitted braided hoses. Even on good, warm, dry tarmac.
I've have toyed with removing the servo to give more feel but I don't know how much braking effort I would lose. Interesting experiment maybe.
Perhaps it's just that the standard Conti's lack grip but they're only 3 years old.
