Thanks for your concerns. Note that the insurance is on our commercial vehicles. They don’t want to know if it’s a normal car. For those of you who live in rural areas or know of farmers or are involved in farming, lots of youngsters drive Landrovers and pick ups and the NFU seems to be the main insurer for this. It is also worth noting that my eldest daughter of 19 has a class c lgv license and the insurance through NFU on a 18 ton horse box is 400 Quid. Tractor insurance is also very cheap. Any driver with full license can drive a tractor with implements or trailer on road fully laden for around 3k per year. Bear in mind a new tractor costs 130 k, will travel on road at 50k with our lime spreader towing behind with 16 tonnes in it. All in all the outfit weighs approx 27 28 ton and you don’t need Lgv/HGV to drive it.
