Yes, I would hope £110 is the MAXIMUM you should ever need to spend. but at just over a tenner a day it makes for a completely worry free trip. if they offer several levels of cover, go for the max.

Absolutely. For peace of mind I'd do the same.
For a longer term solution other options are available.
I've only had cause to use breakdown recovery twice in over forty years.
The first time was with the RAC. No problem but the recovery vehicle was a sub-contractor not an RAC vehicle.
The second time was Morgan recovery for my day-old Roadster. Again a local sub-contractor - they managed to damage my paintwork.
