Kingpin lubrication: I was told once a month or every 1000 miles when I bought my first Morgan and I have always stuck to that. Use a molybdenum based grease (the really black stuff) not a general purpose grease as it is best for sliding applications. Then just grease both top and bottom nipples until you see some emerge around the steering bearing somewhere. Lastly if you stick to this and plan a one off trip of 2-3000 miles it's OK to leave the grease gun at home

Spare wheel: You should be able to undo the central T-bar from the spare wheel and just pivot the luggage rack around its fixings to make enough room to lift the wheel over the top of it.
