Well I tried my friendly local engineering firm. They have had a go at making a similar bracket. The U shaped part (the bolt) is easy enough but the top part of the bracket is stamped out on a machine. They tried fabricating this by cutting and welding but the result is not as good and more expensive, so it's a non starter from their perspective.
I will try another company that will have the appropriate "stamping" machinery but I suspect they will be rather more expensive.

I wanted to get some spares/ future replacements for my system, so I tried Speedway as you suggested. They were prompt and helpful -very detailed e-mail arrived same day as I enquired - although did stress that P&P would depend on quantity. They also told me that they can do the clamps either raw or polished, so I think I may give it a go and order some
