...Because it covers more area, width and height, it deflects more air upward at speed. That, in turn, creates more of a vacuum force in the cockpit causing more dust, debris, bugs and leaves to get pulled in from the front end as well as the rear....
So, maybe fit a side scoop along the side to vent the footwell? Or drive in the rain to keep the dust down?
FYI I do get the odd leaf and stuff but tend to drive with the half-tonneau on and my own cr&p filling the passenger side... and vacuum the muck out after every few rides. Happy driving (and er cleaning)!
