I know this is probably a stupid question, but doesn't MMC operate like other manufacturers and have "part" in inventory?

I can see Ford waiting until the factory has a call to make a front fender and then schedules it into the production run.

In the case of a M3W body panel, do you have to wait until it's put into the schedule just like a new build and then in 6 months the body part will be shipped out?

I'm being a bit facetious, but that's pretty much been the case on body and chassis parts in the past.

I do really hope that you have a quick turnaround and are back on the road soon.

As I understand it, the body panels go from the presser to the assembler and then get delivered to Morgan pretty much in one piece ready for paint. The trouble is that I don't want a full body, but just one or two of the component panels which Morgan definitely don't stock but do list as available albeit not when they are available.
I believe the system is one step beyond "just in time" and is best known as "not in time" smile

I can feel a mid-winter tour of the north west highlands coming on to celebrate the repair!
