Craig, if you manage to peel off the old one and there's a bit of surface damage you could order the proper factory clock, hole saw the hole and drop the 'proper' clock in
Worked well for me with an early Roadster, the power supply is already there tucked up behind the dash
Several suppliers on Ebay offering Smiths clocks for around £60. They look same as factory ones and keep time well. Plenty of room behind dash to enable varying positioning. Wiring loom (certainly on 2011 models) already has generous length wires for clock supply and backlight holder. Drill hole with 50mm holesaw, running slowly in reverse first to avoid chipping veneer. Hole may be a bit tight but the last mm or so, easily finished off and widened out with a flap wheel abrasive.
