I don't think the dominance of the car takes it away from Lewis.
One of the reasons I believe he is one of the greats is his back story and the fight his whole family had to get him to where he became noticed and started with the McLaren development team.
If Bottas had been the number one driver for Mercedes then I don't think we would be saying the Merc is dominant.
I wonder what would have happened if Ferrari had Hakkinen as number one and Merc had Botas ?
Maybe a Red bull driver would be World Champion. (Maybe too unreliable this season)
These days F1 is at such extreme levels that only a great driver in a great car is going to win the Championship.
