There's been a fair bit of racing in the midfield this year - but they're a second or more off the pace of the front 3 teams. In terms of points per dollar spent, Force India are probably untouchable.

It would help the whole sport to share money a bit more evenly - to encourage more teams to enter, which creates space form more talent. (If teams have more money they'll have less need to take two pay drivers for their money alone).

Looser technical regulations would create scope for innovation, which might let a smaller team steal a few tenths for a while. And it would maybe reduce the number of midfield teams who just bolt the powertrain of the top 3 into their cars.
