Ah! Wise solution. I did not put any silicone around the screws, perhaps I should have. I do not know which type of stud you have ordered, but I put on one with a circular base plate, as I recommended to you. Underneath the plate I put a home-made gasket cut to size made from a bicycle inner tube. Protects the paint and should be sufficient to prevent water ingression. But of course, silicone in addition wouldn't hurt.
