As a confirmed all weather roofless all season Morganista type of guy I wanted to try some variations on the aeroscreen theme that I have on my P4SS.

I have found in dirty weather the aeroscreens get covered quickly ( I know that is why they invented wipers !!!) and as I seem to sit lower in the P4SS than my previous 4/4 the plan was to come up with a lower screen that I can see over.

I have a spare windscreen frame so I set to and following the well known engineering procedure: measure once ..cut 5 times..I cut my screen:

I made a cardboard template :

My plan was to make 3 different styles of screen from Polycarbonate 5mm clear material to cover all requirements.

I priced up on line the 5mm Polycarbonate and the cost for enough for 1 screen was £28 delivered.

Even better I found a local plastics company and they found me a
6'x 4' sheet from a job with a damaged corner and we agreed on £25 and a ride in the Morgan !!!!

Happy..enough for 10 screens !!!

Polycarbonate is great to work with...strong,light..can be drilled, filed and shaped with a jigsaw without cracking.

Made up some side pillars and cut first design :

Second design:

Installed second design and went over to take company owner out for blast.

This is really like riding a fast motorbike..full on airflow..great fun ...I will run with the second design for a while..still warm and dry with full face helmet and heater on.

Total cost: £30 and can remove and change screens in minutes as well as refitting aeroscreens.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL
