Ouch! I had gates with a central stop plate - I had it lowered so that low cars wouldn't hit it.
I have that in the condo where I often leave the car and I do not have any possibility of having that changed/lowered.
Both of the time I ruined my sump I heard a very slight "Zingggggg" noise and vibration of 0.5 sec. No major fault, but enough to touch the drain plug, twist it a little bit and have a very minor leak (let's say a 20cm wide oil leak on the floor in one/two weeks) but with the follow consequences:
- 8 liters of oil
- New oil sump
- Lot of bad words
I hope that with the protector the noise (if I forget to pass on the side) will be maybe stronger but no damage will happen.
