@art tidesco I would not presume to be anything other than having a tenuous association with 'VON' in the 60's, although obviously aware of its subsequent history. It has been owned and raced for many years by Doug Taylerson and son Matt. It has arguably the longest continuous competition history of any 4-wheel Morgan (dons tin-hat)being campaigned since Belcher first got it new, via Mayman, Ridout et al up to the present day. Being 1958 it is one year older than 'XOV'. Of course 'TOK' (the registration number, that is) is '56 but that is even less original than 'FOJ' which I rebuilt for Ridley! Hmmm, dangerous ground in these inflationary times!
'VON' has what must be the unique distinction of twice being part of the winning team, in the same event, at the same venue forty years apart! In '59 she was part of the Morgan team placed 1st on handicap (driven by Belcher) in the Birkett 6-hour Relay and repeated this success in 1999 driven by Matt Taylerson.
I do recall Mark R's irritation of it's being referred to as the 'Kieft +4' merely because Mayman had bought the moribund Kieft company off Berwyn Baxter (who had bought it off Cyril K)
It may have been prepped by Baxter's outfit in it's Belcher days I suppose. It did have a carb heat-shield with a Kieft logo on it once. I'm rambling again!! blush
