Fog lights can be wired separately but must only be used at times of low visibility which I believe is usually taken to be less than about 100m.
I wish the muppets that drive around here in clear nighttime conditions would abide by that! Unfortunately there aren't enough traffic
to book them...
However nothing beat the look of 4 giant Cibie Oscars on the front of the MK1 Escorts back in the days of the Motoring News Rally Championship.
