Reading about the splits on a few early tanks, and not liking the looping top entry hose, as well as finding my original oil hoses were rock hard and prone to weeping even with fully tightened clamps, I decided a new tank and hoses were in order. I drew up and commissioned a .125" wall tank from the talented crew at Twisted Choppers in South Dakota. Had them build it per bike practice with return and vent hoses entering the tank bottom, with 'stand pipes' going up to near the tank top. The tank is an inch wider to regain capacity lost to the increased wall thickness. New Aeroquip hoses designed for hot oil and AN fittings make for a neater installation IMHO. Also added a drain in the feed line (stainless gauge port for 1/2" line).
