Don't be too sure about 4-4 Phil. There may have only been one car with that logo. It's a bit like the "wood chassis" myth...

Ken Hill's book Completely Morgan Four Wheelers 1936-1968 has this to say on the subject:

"The designation '4-4' had been decided upon because the car had four wheels and four cylinders. This simple formula has been used for model names for all four-wheeled Morgans since. However, after the war, the company, for some obscure reason, changed the actual style of the name from 4-4 to 4/4, which has been the norm ever since."
