I have a 4 year old gel battery in my 4/4. I use a trickle charger to keep it charged. This week when I got into the car and turned the ignition key there were no lights on the dash and no sound from anywhere. An eery silence in the garage...
I assume that this means a dead battery - I looked at connections and they seemed AOK. As I am flying off to the antipodes my brother has said he'll try jump leads and see if this works in starting the motor. He'll replace the battery if necessary.
Given that the battery is not that old I wonder if there could be anything else that results in no power apparently reaching the dash and the starter motor?
