I took advantage of the warm weather today to grease the kingpins, only to find that the offside one was hidden behind the damper and I had to loosen it to enable the grease gun to clamp onto it. I`ve not had this problem before so I wonder if the nipple was changed at the last service for some reason. I`ll see about changing it for a differently angled one at the Resto Show. The nearside one was done in a couple of minutes. Also cleaned the inside of the wheels with WD40 whilst the wheels were off the ground.
Then I took Megan out for a blast to check everything was OK and had a great top-down run for 30+ miles around the lanes of South Derbyshire. Days like today make me realise what a great privilege it is to have the ability to climb into a Morgan on a whim and just take off into the countryside. I got behind 4 hooded youths in a Peugeot with baked bean can exhaust and at a road works traffic light they all turned round and waved at me giving the thumbs up and smiling like toddlers - There`s hope for us yet!
