From what I can deduce from the NGK web site, they recommend two types of plug for the Aero 8.

The BKR6EQUP is an Iridium plug with 4 electrodes and is good for 80 - 100 K miles (as per your link Peter).

As an upgrade, they recommend the BKR6EIX which is an Iridium IX plug.This is supposed to offer better performance (?) but is 'only' good for 40 - 50 K miles.

I think this has a single electrode (but can't be sure) - but it would perhaps explain the shorter life.....

If the upgrade is seriously 'better' then it may be worth fitting as 40/50 K miles is still a decent life.

Decisions, decisions..... confused2
