They spend a lot on marketing and free trials - see their ads all over the place.
These American type shave clubs are certainly being pushed in the UK
There must be a lot of profit in the them so makes me think the products are cheap
I used them daily for a while, and their blades worked well. The metal handle is nicely weighted. I don't rate their shaving gel - but that's just my impression - local water and your skin will make it feel different.
If they appear to be less expensive than gillette, then gillette have pushed the price of blades up so much that they've created space for these subscription companies at a lower price point.
They may appear to advertise a lot, but that's just their ads following you around the web, targeted based on fitting a profile. It's how t'interweb marketing works.
