Particularly interested in your SS mesh, at the moment I intended to use PC case filter material. May I ask where you sourced yours and how you secured the rear of the mesh?

The mesh came from:
http://www.themeshcompany.com/acatalog/stainless-steel-woven-wire-mesh-A4-sheet-size.htmlThey did a 10 holes per inch in 0.9mm guage SS wire which was ideal. ( Not my idea, Ben D had used brass mesh from them on his narrow boat so we knew what they had on offer
We used Mr Worrall’s finest slotted SS screws throughout.
The mesh seems to have worked well.
It is quite stiff and looks right.
The back edge is folded to give a neat, rigid edge.
We thought about putting put a couple of screws and washers in at the back edge but it really doesn’t need them – less is sometimes more but we are keeing this under review
