Not had a problem. Always leave it with the storm cover fitted when parking overnight. I have a lockable foot locker to keep the touring tool kit in.
worries about our luggage when parking mid-day whilst touring but we have not had a problem. I use Givi motorcycle panniers which lock on to the luggage rack. Before the panniers, I used a Pac-Safe cable lock to secure the case in place. I don't think it would have held anybody up for long but it kept the ear-ache from Management to a minimum. When touring, I prefer to fit the tonneau cover rather than to erect the hood when parking as it stops people seeing the luggage inside the car.
