Whatever happened to the "one second rule"????
If you're talking about the gap to leave between you and the car in front, it's the 2 second rule.
I know this because only a couple of weeks ago I was fortunate to be invited to participate in a Speed Awareness Course, courtesy of Avon and Somerset police.
Of course, brain fade.
I was guilty of driving too close to the car in front, but the C43 has trained me well and I now maintain a good 2 seconds gap.
How?
There is some sort of speed/distance measuring system in the front of the Merc and if I get too close it beeps.... which is irritating. So in true pavlovian style I drive at a safe distance to avoid being told off by the machine.
I share a view posted here that every driver should do a driving awareness course every 10 years. It could be linked to renewing the photo on the licence.
