If you get floaters in your eyes or a shadow in your vision....get to hospital pdq. Last night I spent an hour in an operating theatre with a detached retina. No driving 4 to 6 weeks no gig rowing until September. If you get changes in your eyes get them checked

Worthwhile advice. My optician once told me that if it’s not dealt with really quickly, (i.e. don’t waste time with Doctors, but go straight to the nearest eye hospital) the section of detached retina can die off rapidly, and beyond repair.
