Great to see Peter.
I remember in the late 60's travelling regularly between Grimsby and Hull on the Humber paddle steamers Lincoln, Wingfield and Tattershall Castle. They were ideally suited to coping with the shallow shifting sandbanks of the estuary. Always took the time to view the engines working and attendant polished brass.

They carried cars, light commercials and passengers on a regular service between Hull and the pier at New Holland where a train service to the pier end allowed passengers direct access from the boats.

The building of the Humber bridge was the demise of the service.
Birthday wishes to Alis if it's not too late.
