there was two guitars I thought I might have a punt at, but these prices are just unbelievable

I was interested in a couple of pictures in an auction yesterday (both went for more than I was prepared to pay, as it happens).

There was also a decent sized drawing in the sale by John Constable (no less), with decent provenance. Estimate £6-8K.

For a Constable !! Hmm. I thought. I'll maybe have a punt on that.

You've guessed it. It went for over £70K

Mind you, there was a large-ish Edward Seago oil painting went for £3200. But then, it wasn't a nice picture (unusually for him).
