Yes....the area just in front of the windscreen is a positive pressure area where water can get “pushed” into gaps. That was the issue with my screen rubbers not being tight. A video showing airflow using woollen tufts confirms the flow can go into the engine bay via the rearmost louvres, on my car this is into the heater area.
