Used to have a leather bonnet strap tried it with a chromed buckle each side and the belt made so it had a large flap on the belt to cover the buckle area both side . I purchased a sheep skin rug ( small ) combed it and stuck it to the rear of the belt nice and thick . Always gave it a comb . I sold it to a lad on here .
Have a lady saddler up here and by is she good at her job made me a set of belts etc to strap any luggage to the rear from all sides.
