Its always one thing that I believe is missing about Morgan Ownership, a Haynes Manual. I know things have changed recently with a lot of the electric gizmo. But I know that my rebuild would go a lot smoother with a Haynes. I know a book was published in the late 60/early 1970s, but the standard of it today is shocking. On Talk Morgan I did download a manual that a member issued reference a 1973 MOG which he rebuilt over a number of years which has greatly helped. And of course Talk Morgan/GOMOG are great but the downside to those is you can't just open them to see how you strip down kingpins, removing wings, cowl etc in the workshop like a book!
It sounds to me like you have just talked yourself into the job as you are actually in the process right now
