So picked up my M3W rear wheel and new tire from the fitter and they were able to balance it despite the hub center of unusual size. Their centering cones were sufficiently large to handle it.
As for stripped threads in the hub, I've installed studs for both the road wheel and drive sprocket as I'm generally opposed to running steel fasteners into/ out of alloy on a repetitive basis.
48mm OAL M12 x 1.5 for the wheel, and M10 x 1.25 for the sprocket. Final installed length of the sprocket studs will vary with steel sprocket (shorter) vs alloy sprocket (longer) and care must be taken that the sprocket stud doesn't extend far enough to foul the axle adjuster.
