My wife bought me a Rolex GMT11 about 7years ago and I was amazed that it has over doubled in value since, not that I would ever sell it, but it’s nice to know.
I purchased a Vertex ex military watch (one of the dirty dozen) in the early 70’s from a dispersal advert in the exchange and mart. Cost then about £5, 5 shillings if I remember. Prices now for that particular watch leaves me amazed.
There is something special about mechanical watches much like our old Morgan’s.
