Fair point, but it was always made clear ( and as I understand it this was something Harry Morgan insisted upon) that the Darmont- notwithstanding the fact that it developed some of its own distinctive features such as having 'Darmont' cast into JAP and Blackburne crank casings- was clearly identified as being a Morgan built under licence.
There are examples of advertising material from the 'twenties using phrases such as " R Darmont- Constructeur du MORGAN" and referring to the car as a MORGAN type DARMONT SPECIAL
Don't know if that really gets us any farther tho!
